What do you do at Design-Engine?
I am a graphic designer here at Design-Engine. I work on creating ads, website templates, Illustrations, and graphics for print and the digital media.
What is your educational background?
I am currently enrolled at American Intercontinental University Online, and am going for my visual communications Bachelor’s. I have obtained my Associates in the Science of Graphic Design at Fox College. I went to Reavis High School where I earned my GED.
What are your work experiences?
I had interned here at Design-Engine about a year ago when I graduated from Fox College. After my internship here, I moved onto a web / marketing company called Plum Tree Group where I got an internship creating wireframes for a webpage and small ads for the marketing team. Currently returned to Design-Engine for a small part time job designing graphics and ads.

What is your favorite Chicago spot / event / thing to do?
There are actually a couple of fun spots and events that Chicago has. Some of my favorite spots are by lake shore drive such as the Field museum, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Shedd Aquarium, the Museum of Science and Industry, and Navy Pier. A couple things I like to do in Chicago is travel around by CTA train to the North side of Chicago and to the loop.

Favorite project that you worked on?
I can’t say there is just one favorite project I have worked on. There have been a variety of projects that I have had fun doing as an intern and as graphic designer.
How would you explain Graphic Design in three sentences or less to an 8-year old?
Graphic design is an awesome job where you can make things look good. It is where your creative drawings / ideas can become real and capture attention. It’s like trying to speak something with drawings or images you create!
